SERVE IN OUR COMMUNITY

Reflecting God’s love by giving of ourselves and our resources as we submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit to mentor and help individuals turn or return to a Christ-centered life.

The Center provides services by appointment to eligible clients in the Roanoke, Vinton, Salem, Montvale, Craig County, and Botetourt County communities.

 

Their services include:

  •  Christ-Centered Mentorship

  •  Food Pantry, through Feeding Southwest VA partnership

  •  Provides clothing, housewares, and furniture to clients as donations allow

TLOT provides the following services:
  • Assists in finding and securing affordable housing
  • Addresses immediate needs on the streets through their ministry truck
  • Allows unsheltered friends to take a shower at the facility
  • Provides machines for unsheltered friends to wash & dry load of laundry
  • Provides temporary use of covered lockers for their belongings while at facility, at work, or tending to other personal needs
  • Provides a “warming bus” on nights when temperatures are below 40

The Wickies Ministry’s focus is helping the Lighthouse Church Family’s physical needs.  This is for people who have become unable to perform certain duties, such as common maintenance on their homes or around their homes due to unforeseen circumstances, age or disabilities.
What is a Wickie?
A Wickie is the keeper of the wicks for the light in the lighthouse.  As Wickies, we help keep our church family’s light bright by helping them with their needs.

We exist to make our elderly & shut-ins feel loved and appreciated. We stand on God’s Word to show them hope and faith through love and kindness.

Purpose:
  •  Providing fellowship to the home-bound, shut-ins and others who can’t physically make it to church
  •  Giving spiritual well-being, emotional strength and physical abilities of our elderly.
The Rescue Mission of Roanoke is a comprehensive crisis intervention center for men, women, and children.  They have been offering life-saving services aimed at transformation and restoration for 75 years.

Their services include:

  •  3 hot meals served 365 days a year to anyone
  •  Manna Food Pantry, through Feeding Southwest VA partnership
  •  Overnight Emergency Shelter
  •   Medical services & feet washing provided by Fralin Free Clinic
  •  12-15 month drug recovery residential program

The mission and purpose of Straight Street is to provide a positive Christian environment where at-risk youth can go and obtain the necessary skills and training needed to mature and to discover God’s Divine plan for their lives. the church lot. Our ministry exists to give people a positive first experience before service even starts.

Services & Programs they provide:
  • Inspire Girls after school group
  • Youth Mentoring
  • Parent Life for teen and young moms, dads and babies
  • Downtown Prayer Lunch for the community
  • Prison Fellowship Angel Tree
  • Saturday Nights fellowship for students 6th – 12th grade
  • UpStream Mens Group for Young Men 18-25
  • The Lampstand human trafficking ministry

Eastern Appalachian Teen Challenge for Adolescent Girls takes a holistic Christ-centered approach to helping young girls, ages 12 – 17, exhibiting at-risk behaviors.
Their services include:
  • 12 month residential program
  • Provides a on campus private school education with individualized education plans plus tutoring
  • Ranch-style housing helps girls learn to have healthy friendships in a positive peer environment
  • Helps restore family relationships
  • Extra-curricular activities that foster a strong work ethic, like community service and physical activity

Love Life Roanoke exists to unite and mobilize the church to create a culture of love and life that will result in an end to abortion and the orphan crisis. Their goal is to help families run to the local church when they are facing an unplanned pregnancy instead of the local abortion center. 

Their ministry includes:

  • Peaceful Prayer walks to intercede on behalf of all involved with abortion
  • Sidewalk Outreach at three local abortion centers
  • Mentorship for families that choose life
  • Baby showers to provide families with resources 
  • Restored Life Bible studies to bring hope and healing to families that have had an abortion(s)
  • Orphan Care connections, encouraging the church to get involved in foster care and adoption
